Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if array items have different keys?

The table builds its column list from the union of all keys seen across every object in the array, so rows missing a given key simply show an empty cell for that column.

How are nested objects or arrays displayed in a cell?

Nested values are shown as their JSON.stringify representation inside the cell rather than being flattened into separate columns.

Does clicking a column header sort in place or re-fetch anything?

It re-sorts the same in-memory rows client-side; clicking again on the same header reverses the sort direction between ascending and descending.

What does the search box match against?

It does a case-insensitive substring match against the stringified value of every cell in a row, so a match in any column brings that row back into the filtered results.

What if my input is a single object instead of an array?

It only accepts a top-level JSON array. A single object needs to be wrapped in [ ] before pasting it in.
