MCP Server Config Generator
NewGenerate Model Context Protocol (MCP) server configuration for Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code from a command, arguments and environment variables.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an MCP server config?
It tells an AI client how to launch or reach a Model Context Protocol server: the command, its arguments and any environment variables (or a URL for remote servers).
Where does the config file go?
Claude Desktop reads claude_desktop_config.json, Cursor reads .cursor/mcp.json, VS Code reads .vscode/mcp.json, and Claude Code adds servers via the "claude mcp add" command. Check each client's docs for current paths.
Why do VS Code and Claude use different keys?
Claude Desktop and Cursor use a top-level "mcpServers" object, while VS Code uses "servers" with an explicit "type". The generator outputs the right shape per client.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything is generated in your browser; never paste real secrets into shared files — use environment variables or input prompts.
