Frequently Asked Questions

What diff format does this expect?

Standard unified diff output from `git diff` (or `git show`), including the `diff --git a/... b/...` header lines it uses to split the input into per-file blocks.

How does it detect new, deleted, or renamed files?

It looks for the standard git diff markers "new file mode", "deleted file mode", and "rename from"/"rename to" within each file's block and tags the file list accordingly.

How accurate is the "What changed" summary line?

It's a heuristic guess based on file paths and change types (e.g. flags test files, docs, new files) — it's meant as a starting skeleton to edit, not a final, fully accurate description.

Does this call any AI service to write the description?

No — everything is rule-based string parsing that runs in your browser. There's no external API call, so your diff never leaves your machine.

Can I customize the checklist items in the output?

Not from the UI directly, but the output is plain Markdown text — copy it and edit the checklist section freely before pasting it into your PR.
