Google SERP Snippet Preview
NewPreview how your title tag and meta description will render as a Google search result, with pixel-based truncation warnings.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does this estimate truncation without actually calling Google?
It uses an approximate average character-width model for the fonts and sizes Google typically renders titles and descriptions at, converting your text length into an estimated pixel width and comparing that against Google's commonly cited desktop/mobile snippet width limits. This is an estimate, not a guarantee — Google's actual rendering can vary by device, font kerning, and ongoing UI changes.
Why does my title still look fine here but gets cut off on Google?
Google truncates by rendered pixel width, not character count, so titles with many wide characters (like capital letters or "W"/"M") truncate sooner than titles with the same character count using narrow letters. This tool's pixel estimate is a close approximation but won't be pixel-perfect for every font-weight/character combination Google might use.
What's the difference between the desktop and mobile toggle?
Mobile search results have a narrower available width for both the title and description than desktop results, so toggling "Preview as mobile" applies tighter truncation thresholds to reflect that — useful since most real-world traffic is mobile.
Does Google always show my exact meta description?
No — Google frequently rewrites or replaces your meta description with text pulled directly from the page if it thinks that better answers the searcher's query. Setting a clear, accurate description you've manually reviewed here is still worthwhile, but it isn't a guarantee of what will display.
Why is there a warning even though my title/description look like they fit?
The tool also flags when a title is under about 30 characters or a description under about 70, since very short metadata leaves unused space in the snippet that could otherwise carry additional targeted copy or context for the searcher.
