Does this register a service worker for me?
No. It only generates the manifest.webmanifest JSON file and the matching <head> link/meta tags. You still need to add your own service worker for offline caching and installability requirements.
What icon sizes should I add?
At minimum a 192x192 and 512x512 PNG are recommended for installability across Android and desktop browsers. The icon rows let you add any number of sizes, types, and purposes (any, maskable, monochrome).
What does the "maskable" icon purpose do?
It tells the OS the icon can be safely cropped into a circle, squircle, or other adaptive shape without clipping important content. Use it when your icon design has enough padding around the visible logo.
Can I download the manifest file directly?
Yes. The Download button saves the generated JSON as manifest.webmanifest, ready to drop into your project root or public folder.
Why are some fields missing from the generated JSON?
Empty optional fields like description, id, or categories are omitted entirely rather than being written as empty strings, keeping the manifest clean.
