Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the list of timezone names come from?

From Intl.supportedValuesOf('timeZone'), a built-in browser API that returns every IANA timezone identifier your browser supports — no external timezone database or API call is needed.

How often does the time update?

Every second, using setInterval, so each clock card always reflects the current time down to the second for its timezone.

Why does the UTC offset shown change for some cities during the year?

Timezones that observe daylight saving time (like America/New_York or Europe/London) shift their UTC offset by an hour twice a year — the offset shown is computed live via Intl.DateTimeFormat, so it automatically reflects whichever offset is currently in effect.

Can I add a timezone that isn't in the default list?

Yes — type any valid IANA timezone name (e.g. Asia/Singapore or Pacific/Auckland) into the input, or pick one from the autocomplete suggestions, and click Add. Invalid names are rejected with a warning.

Can I remove one of the default clocks?

Yes — every clock card has a small ✕ button in the corner to remove it from your current view.
