How to Use the Word Frequency Analyzer — WebdevToolbox Guide

Count how often each word appears in a block of text, with stop-word filtering and a visual frequency ranking.

Whether you’re checking keyword density in a page draft or just curious what an article repeats most, counting words by hand doesn’t scale. This tool ranks every word in a text by frequency instantly.

What Is the Word Frequency Analyzer?

Paste any text and it extracts every word, optionally filters out common English stop words (the, a, and, is, and similar), and ranks the rest by how often they appear — along with total word count, unique word count, sentence count, and average word length.

How to Use It

  1. Open the tool at /tools/word-frequency-analyzer.
  2. Paste your text into the input box.
  3. Toggle stop-word filtering, case sensitivity, and a minimum word length as needed.
  4. Read off the ranked frequency list, with each word’s relative bar length showing its share of the top result.

Key Features

  • Stop-word filtering using a short common-English list, toggleable on or off.
  • Case-insensitive merging by default, so “Fox” and “fox” count together (optional).
  • Minimum length filter to exclude very short words from the ranking.
  • Quick text stats — total words, unique words, rough sentence count, and average word length — alongside the ranking.

When to Use This Tool

  • Checking keyword repetition in a draft blog post or page copy before publishing.
  • Analyzing a transcript or survey response set for recurring themes.
  • Spotting overused words in your own writing.

Try It Now

Open Word Frequency Analyzer directly, or press ⌘K and type the tool name from anywhere on the site.
