Frequently Asked Questions
How does it detect the log format?
It tries a combined-log-format regex (IP, timestamp, request line, status, size) first, then an Apache common-log-format regex, then falls back to treating each line as a raw JSON object if it starts with {.
What happens to lines that do not match any known format?
They are counted as unparsed and skipped from the structured table and aggregates, but the unparsed count is shown so you know some lines were not understood.
Does it parse gzip or multi-file logs?
No. Paste plain-text log lines directly; there is no file upload, decompression, or multi-file merging.
What do the aggregate panels show?
Top status codes and top request paths by frequency, computed from whatever lines were successfully parsed into structured rows.
Is any of this sent to a server for analysis?
No. Regex parsing and aggregation happen entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
