Mock Data Generator
NewGenerate fake JSON test records — names, emails, addresses, dates, and more — from a configurable field schema.
—
Names, emails, and addresses are drawn from small built-in sample lists combined pseudo-randomly — they are not real people, and overlaps across runs are expected. With a seed set, the same seed + field config always regenerates identical output (a simple linear-congruential PRNG, not Math.random()).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the generated data real or could it match a real person?
It's assembled by combining small built-in sample lists (common first/last names, street names, company names) pseudo-randomly, so any resemblance to a real person or business is coincidental. It's meant for populating test databases, UI mockups, and demos — not as a source of real contact data.
How does the seed field work?
Leaving it blank uses `Math.random()`, so every run is different. Entering any text seeds a simple deterministic pseudo-random generator, so the exact same seed plus the exact same field configuration and record count will always regenerate identical output — useful for reproducible test fixtures.
Can I control the shape of each record?
Yes — add, remove, rename, and retype fields freely using the Fields list; each record in the output always includes an auto-incrementing `id` plus whatever fields you've configured, in the order you added them.
What's the maximum number of records I can generate at once?
It's capped at 500 per generation, mainly to keep the output readable and avoid freezing the tab — if you need more, you can generate multiple batches (optionally with different seeds) and concatenate the JSON arrays yourself.
Can I export the output as a file?
Yes — the Download button saves the current JSON array as a `.json` file; Copy puts the same text on your clipboard if you'd rather paste it directly somewhere.
