QR code will appear here.

Most modern phone cameras (iOS 11+, Android 10+) recognize this QR format and offer to join the network automatically when scanned — no app required.

This generates the standard WIFI: QR payload format. The password is embedded directly in the QR code image, so treat the generated image the same as you'd treat the password itself — don't post it publicly if the network is private.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does scanning this QR code actually connect a phone to WiFi?

Modern phone cameras (iOS 11+, Android 10+) recognize the standard WIFI: text format embedded in the QR code — it contains the network name, security type, and password — and the phone's OS offers to join that network directly, without the user needing to type the password manually.

What security types are supported?

WPA (which also covers WPA2 and WPA3, since they all use the same WIFI: QR field), WEP (for older/legacy routers), and an open "no password" network option, which omits the password field entirely from the generated payload.

What does the "Hidden network" checkbox do?

It sets the H: field in the payload to true, which tells the phone the SSID is not broadcast and that it should actively try to connect to that specific network name rather than just picking it from a visible list.

Is my password safe if I generate this and then discard it?

The password is embedded directly inside the visual QR code, so anyone who can see and scan the printed or displayed QR image can extract your WiFi password — treat the QR code image itself with the same care you'd give the plaintext password, especially before printing it somewhere publicly visible.

Does this tool store or transmit my WiFi password anywhere?

No — the QR code is generated entirely client-side in your browser using a JavaScript QR encoding library; your SSID and password never leave your device.
